Cyclesmith’s technicians offer Basic and Advanced bicycle repair courses to supplement your cycling knowledge. We are experts in repairing and maintaining bicycles. You'll learn the best ways to care for and fix problems on your road and mountain bikes using pro tools and procedures.

Basic Bike Repair Course

Our instructors make this a fun and very interactive course, where we demystify the bike. The Basic Maintenance Clinic familiarizes you with the basic knowledge a cyclist requires of their bike. We will go over how to clean your entire bike, how to maintain your bike for trouble-free use, and how to lube and clean your drive train. You will even learn hands-on how to change your tire and tube. You do not need to bring your bike or gear as we will provide everything you will need.

Advanced Bike Repair Course

The Advanced Clinic is a complete bicycle overhaul. Bearing systems, wheel truing and brake and shifting systems are the major items covered. Each course is limited to 4 participants and is conducted over two days and approximately 9 hours of instruction.  There is a 1-4 instructor to student ratio. The advanced clinic includes the above topics, as well as:

  • Hands-on wheel truing
  • Bearing adjustment (headset, bottom bracket and hubs)
  • Hands-on brake adjustments (pads and cables)
  • Shifting system service(cable, indexing, limits, shifters, and cleaning)
  • Stem, bar and seatpost adjustment

Course fee: $180. $90 deposit required to hold your spot.


Our advanced courses will be held on January 20th/21st, February 3rd/4th, and February 17/18th; additional courses will be added to meet demand.
